For Rolling Stone Magazine x Nissan, Pencil TV approached The Road to Reinvention as a narrative portrait rather than a traditional brand film. Centered on Blk Odyssey, the project explores the inner terrain of an artist in motion, tracing the quiet transformations that happen between ambition, belief, and becoming. Through Blk Odyssey’s voice, dreams, and manifestations, the story unfolds as an editorial journey, one that mirrors the spirit of forward momentum embodied by the 2025 Nissan Kicks.

Project information

The focus for this commercial was on emphasizing Blk Odyssey’s journey by constructing a visual world informed by his musical roots, cultural references, and personal sensibility. Animation became a tool to externalize the invisible: intuition, ambition, and transformation. This approach allowed the piece to feel immersive and expressive, balancing emotional depth with a sense of play. The final result sits at the intersection of artist portraiture and brand storytelling, reflecting Nissan’s innovative and light-hearted energy while remaining grounded in the authenticity of the artist’s evolving path.
